2Devils Internet Radio

Last week i decided to set up a Internet radio show, for my brother Dj pilledduk and myself, so that we have another way of promoting ourselves, i looked across the net and found lots of options but none that were not going to cost me a arm and a leg anyway i found a really cheap solution to the problem over at
pirateradio.com, it was easy to set up and i also got myself some free web hosting for our website over at host-ed.net which was free and very good.

ProSound L58AW Wireless Microphone

Not sure where to start with this one but basicly, i got up the other morning feeling full of beans and ready to spit some of the new rhymes and lay them down on a track or two, only to discover that some how (most probably the kids) my jack plug on the end of my mic had snapped off.

Well i can tell you i nearly cried, but the truth is ive been looking for an excuse to buy a better microphone for ages, but there was no way i could justify buying one when my wife knew i had a working (although cheap) one. well i found my excuse now and promptly explained i was going into town to buy a new more expensive microphone,
as you can imagine that went down like a lead balloon but i wasnt going to take no for an answer.

so my twin sons ryan & kyle my daughter jasmine and me all walked up to the town and i went into our local "Maplins Electronic Store", now there was a lot of mic's in there but they wasnt really what i wanted as a wireless mic is not really what i need because i use a mic stand most of the time, but they didnt really have any coreded mics that where any good.

So i made the choice to test out one of these wireless one's, the one i looked at was all black and it was some make i had never even herd of before, it was priced up at £59,99 so the guy got it out the case for me wired it up and let me test it in the shop, to be fair it sounded good not amazing but better than my last mic and for the price i was happy, so i picked up a new mic stand & spit/pop filter and told the assistant i would have all three.

Now the assistant rang up the total and said he would go out back and get me the mic, and put the other back in the display cabinet, so off he went out back and came out with my new mic in its box, he charged me the price that he had already rang up on the till, i paid and the kids and i left the shop. It wasnt till we got home and i opend the box that ryan says to me, "thats not the mic you asked for dad", so i take a look and see the boy is right, the assistant had picked up the wrong box and instead of giving me the £59,99 microphone he had mistakenly given me the £99,99 one.

So i had a result i got the more expensive mic for the cheaper price, and as it turns out a much better quality one, for example a friend of mine has a "Sure" wireless mic thats £240 to buy and as yet we can not tell a difference in the sound quality between the two so i had a big result it seems. The only problem is that i have a chest infection at the moment so i cannot really use it properly and ive got to wait lol.

Lean Fm 93.1

Well last week my little brother dave - AkA - Dj Pilledd uk, invited me down to the radio station studio, where he plays his set's every friday and sunday, so as its not that often i get to go out what with work and 4 kids oh and the wife lol (love you hun) so i thought what the hell, its go to be worth it just for a laugh even if it does make me feel old.

Anyway i turn up at the studio introduce myself to a few of the Dj's and Mc's down a few beers and before i know it im having a great time and its 2am.
To be honest with you i spent most of the next day asleep a shame because apparently it was a really sunny day but oh well lol.

On the sunday my brother tells me that he is gonna start an afternoon session from 12 so of we go into the studio to set up, at which point he hands me the mic and says, and i quote "your doing all the shout outs, phone no/website promotion today bruv" well ok i say why not seen as tho im a rapper and use a mic alot anyway, dave just nodded his head and said "im a dj i dont touch the mic".

So sunday we played for 4hrs the phone lines didnt stop ringing and we even had somone from norway locked in, they also came to the chatroom, so another good day all in all im looking forward to going down there again soon.

Rise Of The Spambots

Well i have noticed that over the last 8 months, the number of spambots that keep visiting all my useual web hangouts, which are mostly forums has risen by a huge amount, and i have seen many people on thse forums talking about how to stop them, by adding all these little scripts and php add ons etc etc.

Now from what i can gather the only type of forum add on's that are working "for now anyway" to get the spammers out are the SMF fourms, but alot of the IPB and phpBB and some others are just getting raped by the spambots regardless of add on's and stuff.

So for those of you that are still getting prob's, or if you dont want to waste your time adding other scripts, maybe you should give this a try, as i know it works because a friend of mine has done it on his very populer smiley forum It won't stop all of it but it will stop most people who normaly use a language based on glyphs (like chineese) and only have a rudimentary knowledge of western languages.

It should stop mosts bots though.
They won't know if a particular letter should be read from the outlined letter or from a solid filled letter.

You just need to change the registration font.
Use an outline font like ransom.ttf

The bots and most chineese can't read that and so can't complete the registration.

hope this helps some of you out......thx again phil.

MentaL MindtriX

The other day i created myself a fan page over on facebook for my rap alias and stage name "MindtriX", this was the first time i had used facebook as a way of promoting my music and was not so sure that it was going to benifit me in a big way.

But i have to say i was quite impressed with the ease of doing it, and i noticed that it became alot easier for me to share my music and thoughts with my small but loyal fanbase, i have added a widget to the top left of this blog page so anyone that wishes to check out my page can do so, there are free mp3 downloads to be found on that page and i will add more as time goes on so please check back.

Once again thanks for reading, Phil.

Easy Searching For Car Spares

Its that time of the year for us when we need to renew our car M.O.T so my wife took it into the test centre yesterday, unfortunetly it failed because the far left passanger side seatbelt has snapped off.  This is not a new fault as it was like this when we bought the car 3 yrs ago, its never really been a problem as our car is an 8 seater so the kids just never used that seat, and although this same car had passed the M.O.T  at the same test centre for the last 3 yrs they still failed it, with the bloke saying to my wife "you obviously didnt hide it well enough this year" lol.

Anyway we need to get this seatbelt sorted in 10 days so that we get our free retest, beause we can't really afford to pay another 50 quid, so today my wife and i started to check out the internet and phone around some local breakers yards to see if we could find one...

After some searching around my wife found this site called Breakerlink.com which is like one of those price comparision websites but for car parts, here is what it say's on there homepage...

Submit your request instantly to 100s of breakers across the UK
Start by selecting the type of vehicle Car, Van or 4x4
or complete your details  on the right
You'll then receive no obligation quotations
Choose your best offer - saving you up to 80%
Nationwide delivery available

So my wife entered the details and hit enter, and as if by magic within minutes her inbox was filling up with quote's and also her phone started to ring constantly with people offering her the best deals, this site saved us a hell of a alot of time and really cut down our searching and for that reason and the fact that it was a very good service i thought i would share it with you all..

We got the part we needed for £27 with next day dilivery and now we should be good for another year at least...

Thanks for reading

Prince of Persia Xbox 360

My eldest son finley got this game as a xmas prezzie from his nan at the time she got it, it had only just been released so along with the game she also got him the official game guide which has helpul hints on what would otherwise be difficult situations within the game. Now to be frank i was not in a big rush to play this game so apart from the first boot up to check the graphics its been in its box collecting dust.

So a couple of days ago my boy fired it up as we thought it was about time we checked it out, so from first glance it looks to be very nice, looking crisp and smooth graphics with a few nice animated intros and cut scenes, but right off the bat you are met with this very confusing looking map/hud display that took both of us a few moments to work out what it was for.

Anyway we started playing and have now got at least half way through the main story, and apart from a few tricky puzzles  to work out (which the game guide came in handy for) its a pretty boring repetitive game which does not really differ from the other prince of persia games in the past, and very soon bouncing off one wall to another becomes teadious.

In my opinion you shouldnt waste your time playing this game if you wanna run along walls and jump off things play assasins creed because at least you can throw a few guards off the roofs if you get bored.

My rating: 4/10
